Safety Policies

Cocoon Safety Guidelines Updates with Sarah Redmond.

Listed below are all the safety recommendations that all our Cocoon Spa locations are committed to, in order to keep our community, employees and customers safe.

  • Enforce social distancing in all shared areas
  • Safe employee and client check-in processes
  • Appropriate scheduling times, limiting unnecessary interactions between clients
  • Pre-appointment notification of safety measures to reiterate safe practices
  • Cleaning and sanitizing practices will be enforced in all shared areas










Booking an appointment – Before Visiting the spa

  • At the time of the booking (online or over the phone), spa visitors will be screened for symptoms and the standard recommendations for self-isolation are followed if the client can be classified as high-risk.

  • We strongly encourage our clients to book through our online scheduling system which allows appointments to be staggered.
Client and Visitor Practices and Precautions
  • Before arriving to our spa’s, we  ask our guests to complete a self screen by answering the questions mentioned here.

    • The standard recommendations for self-isolation are followed if the client can be classified as high-risk. For example, such measures are taken if a client has returned from an international trip less than 14 days prior to their appointment or if they have been in recent contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

    • It is important to note that self-reporting provides limited assurance, as some individuals can be asymptomatic.
    • We will conduct a contactless temperature check.
    • We will provide hand sanitizer – this is located next to the door with clear signage, to ensure that all spa visitors properly sanitize their hands.
    • We will require the client to sign our healthy client intake.

  • The number of clients in the spa at one time will be limited by staggering appointments and ensuring there is a safe distance between chairs and treatment rooms.

Spa Setup

  • Physical distancing measures:

    • We have created at least 6 feet of distance between guests within shared areas.

  • Workplace sanitation

    • We are enforcing hand washing guidelines and they will be posted in all washrooms ((See recommended hand washing protocols for further resources).

      • We will provide a sanitization facility near the entrance.
    • We will thoroughly sanitize all commonly used equipment between each appointment and use. This includes:

      • Massage tables.
      • Chairs.
      • Bottles and other frequently handled equipment.
    • Shared reading materials (such as magazines) in waiting areas are removed.
    • We are providing education, training and awareness to our whole team. All our team have been trained and certified in the following Covid Safety Guidelines:

      • Hand hygiene.
      • Removing and putting on PPE.
      • Use of break rooms.
      • Proper handling and cleaning of shared equipment and tools
